New Delhi. Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz today announced the launch of the fifth generation new C-Class in the Indian market with an ex-showroom national price of Rs 55 lakh.
The new C-Class (W206) comes with a preferred package of luxury, comfort and sportiness, while being highly digital and sustainable, the company said in a statement here.
Martin Schwenk, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “The C-Class has always been a favorite of Indian customers and has a loyal following of over 37,000 C-Class customers. The unprecedented customer fervor exceeded our expectations as well and we received 1000 bookings even before its launch, making it one of the most sought after luxury cars in the market today. We will try to deliver these cars to our customers as soon as possible. The new C-Class marks the beginning of the products we have to offer this year. Waiting for two to three months is going on on this car.
Mr. Schwenk added that the C-Class is one of the best selling models in the world, and reflects the expectations of today’s technologically savvy customers from a luxury car. These feature human-centric innovation with sporty and modern designs and luxurious comfort. ISG technology has been used in this car, which provides best power and best fuel economy. The new C-Class has the DNA of the flagship S-Class, and features the latest technology along with key luxury avenues such as NGT 7 infotainment, latest generation AI powered MBUX, revolutionary car to X communication, leading to the new C-Class in India. It is the most modern C-Class in existence.
He said that this new car is available in a choice of three engine variants. Includes C 200, C 220 d and C 300 d. C 200 is powered by 1496 cc petrol engine which gives mileage of 16 kmpl. Similarly, the 220 d and 300 d are powered by 1993 cc diesel engine which gives mileage of 23 kmpl and 20.37 kmpl respectively.
